Introduction

Macau is going through a period of intense economic and social change, raising expectations of a sustained and very high economic growth for most of this decade. The pace of change and its many consequences suggest that an increased reflection effort is needed regarding the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. The presentation is aimed at a non-specialist audience and will focus on the main trends of the economic development of Macau and their likely implications.
